Why Blessing Goes Further Than Kindness Or Gratitude
Blessing Benefits Both The GIVER And RECEIVER
Blessing Benefits The GIVER
Blessing can easily offer as much to the giver as the receiver, sometimes even more. Since many of us have an overwhelming number of commitments, we may not bless unless we know we will get something out of it. Below, I share the best action I have ever found, witnessed, or done that puts good in the world—quickly, effectively, and with long-lasting and meaningful results for both the giver and the receiver!
- AIDS SOMEONE TO FEEL BETTER: This is one of the best, if not the most powerful, ways to do that—quickly changing a person’s emotional energy state to a more positive place.
- BUILDS ATTRACTION & MAGNETISM: Those who hear or read your blessings confer leadership qualities onto you and perceive you as more attractive, confident, and capable.
- HUGE RETURN ON TIME INVESTMENT: It costs zero money, just a little time, and the return on that small time investment is huge!
- MODELS LEADERSHIP: One of the important responsibilities of good kings, queens, and leaders is to shine light on the awesomeness of their kingdom (whatever grouping of people they have a duty of care to).
- CULTIVATES YOUR MOJO & FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF & HUMANITY: Think about this: as you bless, you and others feel better. This act immediately changes your internal state to feeling something better, stronger, and more in control of how you feel and interact in the world. When you do this enough, that internal state becomes part of who you are.
- EXPANDS YOUR ABILITY TO AFFECT OTHERS: Your ability to shift emotion in others becomes a powerful and useful life skill.
- GREATER INSIGHT INTO YOU: As you view and point out to others their greatness, no matter how small, you gain greater insight into yourself. It is an inevitable outcome.
- ATTRACT AID & ALLIES: Those who put good into the world attract aid and allies, both seen and unseen (belief not required).
Blessing Benefits The RECEIVER
All of the above benefits for the giver work synergistically, adding up to a greater overall impact than the sum of their individual parts for the receiver.
By assisting another person in better accepting and aligning with their true selves, blessing helps the receiver discover their “magnificent essence.” Our magnificent essence is the core of our being, independent of any resistance. (More about magnificent essence and resistance will be covered in a future article.)
- HELPS UNCOVER DEEPER TRUTHS: Deeper truths lie beneath the resistance caused by lies we unconsciously learned and those lies we consciously tell ourselves out of fear and hurt. By shining a light on these deeper truths through blessing, this reminds people of their inherent magnificence. This light can remain bright and grow for days or even longer, making it the greatest gift of blessing and the reason behind its incredible power to transform humanity for the better.
- FEEL GREATER CONFIDENCE: Blessing boosts a receiver’s confidence, even if only temporarily. In my experience, this confidence can grow and last for a long time, sometimes even permanently.
- GAIN INSIGHT INTO A PERSON’S TRUE SELF, BETTER ABLE TO ACCEPT THEIR GOLD: Blessing highlights traits, qualities, and even “superpowers” that they may not be aware of. This newfound awareness helps them better accept their “gold” — the wonderful positive qualities within themselves.
- BLESSING CREATES RIPPLES OF PAYING IT FORWARD: blessing is way more contagious than smiling, and often leads to the receiver giving more compliments, blessings, and sharing important things with others. This “pay it forward” phenomenon is a testament to the power of blessing. I would love to witness its widespread impact and see it go viral!
BLESSING Benefits The World And Why We Urgently Need It!
Our World In Metacrisis
CRISIS = a time of intense difficulty, trouble, or danger
METACRISIS = underlying crisis driving a multitude of crises (Jonathan Rowson)
This is the most basic definition I could find, but there is an intense complexity to what it truly means. Part of the metacrisis is a breakdown of our ability to comprehend the greater complexity and interconnectedness of the situation. This site here is the BEST I have found to truly grock (understand at a deep level) what humanity is facing.

We are in a METACRISIS — most of humanity is in serious peril. The colossal amount of suffering and death that could occur at any moment is staggering, and humanity already suffers beyond what most seem willing to acknowledge, recognize, or understand. Those in think tanks and the “know” circle are sounding the alarm bells louder and louder, striving to secure global cooperation and coordination among nations, businesses, and communities.
I am not referring to conspiracy theories or how the rich and powerful attempt to maintain their power and wealth through fear-mongering. I am talking about various signs that scientists from diverse disciplines, employing rigorous logical reasoning, data, and research, are urgently imploring world leaders, governments, agencies, and businesses to address this head-on.
Blessing Benefits The WORLD
Imagine if everyone blessed another person every day! Now imagine if half of the trolls (the opposite of blessing, and even worse) were to bless instead?! Imagine what the world would become?
- IT ADDS AN UTTERLY OVERSIZED POSITIVE IMPACT: For what little it takes to bless, those who witness blessing feel better. Blessing is gratitude and kindness on steroids. It feels great to witness, give, or receive.
- READILY AVAILABLE ANTIDOTE TO DIVISIVENESS AND HATE: Although blessing is not a cure for humanity’s ugliness, it does help counteract it.
- IT BUILDS PEOPLE UP, NOT TEARS THEM DOWN: Just by witnessing a blessing, the beauty and magnificence mirrored often points to those who witness their own heart coherence, cultivating love, healing.
How I Came Upon The Power Of Blessing
Why I Focus On Blessing
Part of my living purpose is to remind people how wondrous life can be, and who they are — some version of MAGNIFICENT! Then I educate, train and inspire individuals to share their unique magnificence with the world. When this happens, people put a lot of good into the world, and contribute significantly to the betterment of society.
It also works in reverse to astounding effect — when people put good in the world, they inadvertently uncover and radiate their own magnificence!
From my observations, I firmly believe that we, as individuals and as a collective humanity, have the potential and the responsibility to do even better. There is a pressing need to put much more good into the world. I don’t believe that merely evolving ourselves and striving for kindness (which seems to be lacking in many people) is sufficient anymore.
In my experience, the most powerful and effective way to quickly and efficiently contribute to the world’s good is by blessing others.
Don’t Curse the Darkness — Light a Candle
Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness”. Although she was likely quoting someone else, these wise words became quite meaningful during my 12 year long dark-night-of-the-soul. I had become so mired in regret, pain, betrayal, despair, hurt, and loneliness that I cursed the darkness, making everything around me and within me even worse.
Although it took a few years, I learned to create gratitude within myself following the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza, so lighting candles became a daily ritual. At some point I knew I had lit myself up, because my fellow Argentine tango friends and dancers inquired if I had fallen in love. While I did fall in love, it was not with someone, but with life itself.
I recognize that life and radiating positive energy with others has a limited impact. The world is currently facing a significant crisis — a metacrisis. It urgently needs a substantial amount of good shared from us.
Acts of Kindness
I recall a movement that started in the 80s, likely initiated by New Age Communities, promoting random acts of kindness along with bumper stickers. I occasionally heard friends recount their experiences doing small acts of kindness. I genuinely hoped that this small movement would make a tangible difference in my life. NOPE, it did not.
Gratitude
Years later, I interviewed a leader in the self-improvement field and asked them my favorite question: “What single action could I or anyone take that would have the most significant positive impact on my life?” Their answer was simple yet profound: cultivate gratitude, preferably as a daily practice.
Much later, in the fall of 2019, I found Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work. He emphasizes the significance of gratitude, describing it as “the ultimate state of receivership.” Intrigued, I decided to experiment with a daily practice of expressing gratitude, and it undoubtedly made a positive difference in my life.
Blessing
However, over all those years, I have noticed something more powerful — Blessing. It is a deceptively simple act of communicating something positive to an individual or a group. When executed well, it yields an enormous and lasting impact for the minimal effort required.
Moreover, the sheer amount of good that blessing generates makes me increasingly curious about why it’s not practiced more frequently.
Blessing combines both gratitude and kindness. But it goes beyond gratitude and kindness. It affirms and validates individuals, promotes kindness, inspires others to recognize and embrace their inner magnificence, and it accomplishes so much more.
